Jerky braking, is something warped?

It sounds like the rotors are warped. They can be turned but it's not recommended. The metal dissipates heat so less metal, more heat. That shortens the life of the pads and scorches the turned rotors. Just change out the rotors and pads. That's a common car and they aren't that expensive. Also, you shouldn't compromise safety to save a few bucks.
