What do you think about Child abandonment laws and Safe Havens?

I was shocked to hear that some people actually have an objection to these laws. They say that by making it legal and anonymous for girls to drop their unwanted children off at Hospitals, Fire Dpt., etc, is sending a message that it is ok and that it will encourage teen pregnancy. I see the point, but it seems ridiculous. First of all, knowing that you can drop off your baby if it is unwanted will NOT encourage teen pregnancy, because these girls would still have to hide their pregnancy for nine months and then give birth with no hospital or drugs. Second, I think that letting these woman off free for abandoning their child is a much better alternative to finding these children in dumpsters. I'm just curious as to how other people feel about these laws and what do you think can be done to put them in to effect in all States. Currently they have only ped legislation in Alabama and Texas.
