CV Joint Problem?

I have a '99 Sienna van that has a whining-clicking sound coming from the underside of the transaxle area. The sound occurs only on acceleration. Almost sound like "rearend hum" in rear drive cars but with a slight clicking noise. How should I troubleshoot this? Could this be a bad CV joint? Thanks!
