Empowerment?

Empowerment means learning to defeat that intrinsic desire to be sheltered and cared for by others thereby eradicating the destructive effect of dependency problems common to the less powerful ones. For me, empowerment is not all about challenging oppression and inequality; that's just a by product of successfully overcoming the dependency problem. A great number of people, women especially, are still afraid to give up their cozy lives and to take the risk involved in trying to liberate themselves from subordination.
