Will my hair color fade?

Okay, So my natural color is dirty blond. Last night i dyed my hair with Revlon colorsilk in "Burgundy" I really like it but my brother-in-law said that i'm gonna hate my hair for 11 years cause it won't fade i'll just have to wait till my hair grows out:( I really hate the way your hair looks when its dark and it has light coming through the top:( Is it going to fade?:( PLEASE HELP!!!
